I have been involved in the music industry for some 30 years as a musician, sound engineer, lighting engineer and qualified teacher.

Sceptre is the culmination of my experience put into what I believe to be a workable package. I started in the PA Hire business some 25yrs ago. CD’s were just starting to take off!!! I have seen many changes and developments in equipment over the years – some good – some not so good and have put together systems which combine both old and new technology to its best.

I have always assembled my own systems thus giving me the benefit of knowing exactly how they work and how to resolve any problems which always seem to crop up irrespective of how methodical you are in your assembly.

I have built up various systems to hopefully cater for most needs and they comprise:

System 1:  300w -  2 x Hysis 2XT or JBL EON, 2 x stands, Peavey XR680C and up to 3 mics with stands and cables. Suit small room or function. POA

System 2:  1k – 2 x 1 x 15  bass bins, 2 x top end, 1 x 1000w amp, 8 ch mixing desk and up to 6 mics with stands and cables. Suit small/medium room or function. PO

System 3:  2k – 2 x 1x 15  bass bins, 2 x top end, 2 x 2500w amp, 2 x 15” front monitors, 1 x 2 x 15 drum fill with horn, 18ch desk, multicore, up to 12 mics with stands and cables. Suit small/medium room or function. POA

System 4:  4k – 2 x 2x 15  DTH bass bins, 2 x DTH top end, 2 x 2500w amp, 2 x 15” front monitors, 1 x 2 x 15 drum fill with horn, 18ch desk, multicore, outboard effects etc, up to 12 mics with stands and cables. Suit medium room. POA

System 5:  6k – 4 x 2x 15  DTH bass bins, 2 x DTH top end, 2 x 2500w amp, 2 x 15” front monitors, 1 x 2 x 15 drum fill with horn, 18ch desk, multicore, outboard effects, graphics, limiters, vocal effects etc, up to 18 mics with stands and cables. Suit large room. POA

System 6:  8k – 4 x 2 x 15  DTH subs, 2 x Turbosound TMS3 top end, EV and QSC Amps, 4 x 15” + horn, front monitors, 1 x 2 x 15 drum fill + horn, 24ch Allen Heath GL24 desk, multicore, outboard effects, graphics, limiters, vocal effects etc, up to 24 mics with stands and cables. Suit large room – small outside event. POA

System 7:  12k – 6 x 2 x 15  DTH subs, 4 x Turbosound TMS3 top end, EV and QSC Amps, up to 6 x 15” + horn, front monitors, 2 x 2 x 15 drum fill + horn, 24ch Allen Heath GL24 desk, multicore, outboard effects, graphics, limiters, (BSS, DBX, ALESIS etc), up to 24 mics with stands and cables. Suit large room – small/medium outside event. POA

A colleague told me many years ago that lighting was a dark art. I am just beginning to understand what he meant. Over the years I have seen many expensive lighting rigs that look simply atrocious when in situ, and am of the belief that it’s not what you’ve got it is what you can do with it. I have put together a range of lighting rigs which I believe are powerful enough to illuminate most small/medium venues, but also can be broken down to cover the smallest of venues. The lighting I have available is as follows:

Rig 1:  8 x par 56 lamps, 2 x powerdrive stands, 1 x controller, all leads to connect SUIT SMALL VENUE, Pubs etc: POA

Rig 2:  10 x par 56 lamps, effect lighting + 8 x pinspots, 3 x powerdrive stands, 2 x controller, all leads to connect. SUIT SMALL VENUE, Pubs etc: POA

Rig 3:  18 x par 56 lamps, effect lighting + 8 x pinspots, 4 x powerdrive stands, 2 x controller, all leads to connect. SUIT SMALL VENUE, Pubs etc: POA

Rig 4:  8 x par 64 lamps, 2 x powerdrive stands, 1 x controller, all leads to connect.

SUIT SMALL/MEDIUM VENUE: POA

Rig 5:  18 x par 64 lamps, effect lighting, (strobe, smoke etc), + 8 x pinspots, 4 x powerdrive stands, 2 x controller with 8ch  dimming facilities, all leads to connect. SUIT SMALL/MEDIUM VENUE: POA

Rig 6:  24 x par 64 lamps, effect lighting, (strobe, smoke etc), + 8 x pinspots, 6 x powerdrive stands, 2 x controller with 18ch dimming facilities, all leads to connect.

Rig 7:  48 x par 64 lamps, effect lighting, (strobe, smoke etc), 6 x powerdrive stands, tri-lite if req, lighting desk with 18ch dimming facilities, all leads to connect.

Rig 8:  64 x par 64 lamps, + effect lighting, (strobe, smoke etc), 8 x powerdrive stands, tri-lite if req, lighting desk with 18ch dimming facilities, all leads to connect.
